Two Brothers, One Good Idea

Some of the best ideas start close to home.

Casella Creative is teaming up with California Crafted, my brother’s ceramics company, on something I’ve been especially excited to create: a collection of handmade ceramic cups designed for everyday use.

Think stemless wine glass, but with a little more character. Each cup is shaped by hand and finished with unique glazes, giving every piece its own personality. No two are exactly alike, and that’s part of what makes them special.

As a designer, I love the process of creating things that people can actually hold, use, and live with. My brother has been building California Crafted around that same idea, with a serious focus on craftsmanship, materials, and making really good ceramics.

This collaboration gives us a chance to bring those two worlds together, design and craft, and I couldn’t be more excited to do it with my brother. We’re working on the collection now, with plans to make the cups available online and shipping in time for the holidays. It’s a pretty simple idea: make something beautiful, make it well, and make it together.
