Dorothy’s Place has served the homeless community for over 25 years. In 2007, we put together a unique grant application for Sappi Paper. Out of several hundred nationwide applicants, we were one of 15 design firms to receive the coveted grant. We created a custom booklet highlighting the programs offered by Dorothy’s Place. This booklet was well-received by the judging panel. As a result of our efforts, Dorothy’s Place was awarded $31,500 for marketing and promotional material. We were able to effectively tell the story of Dorothy’s Place to the community. Because of our efforts, Dorothy’s Place saw a dramatic increase in donations from the community and they were able to reverse a steep negative financial trend. For ten consecutive years, the charity has ended up in the black—a goal they had never achieved in the past. Casella Creative created pro bono all the marketing collateral including the letterhead, business cards, brochures, thank you cards, shopping bags and the quarterly newsletter.
