Benefit Artshow & Posters

Client: National Steinbeck Center & Dorothy's Place

Brief

The “What The Deck?” promotion represents one of our best campaigns. The origin of the campaign came from the Sappi grant, referenced here in the Dorothy’s Place case study. We purchased 100 skateboard blanks that were distributed to local artists. The skateboards were painted by artists including David Ligare and Tom Davies. We promoted an exhibition at a the National Steinbeck Center, and the response was incredible. According to Deborah Silguero, museum curator, “This is the most diverse group of museum visitors we’ve seen here- over 600 people came through the exhibit in three hours.” We were joined on the final night by Michael Osborne as the keynote speaker. The exhibit raised $13,500 for homeless programs. The campaign affirms Casella Creative's commitment to social causes.
